Private Online Forum

Private Forum

The Art Verve Organization provides a private online environment, free of charge, to cultivate social learning. Built around shared interests, support for creatives, and moderated by instructors from the Art Verve Academy, it's a great way to connect with others and develop your skills.

Exchange ideas, tips, new tools, or techniques with like-minded folks. We share work in progress during virtual meetups, homework, or other art-related topics without exposure to social media or the internet.

We use "Discord," an application allowing members to share artwork in progress or discuss other art-related topics privately, moderated by instructors.

The Private Forum is Free!

  • A user account is at no charge.

What's a Server?

Discord allows you to create an invite-only home for your friends or community - a place where you can talk, hang out, and have fun. These places are called servers. Click here to learn more.

Text and Voice Channels?

Text channels are separate spaces for talking over text. They keep conversations organized and give everyone plenty of room to talk. Create different channels for all the topics your group likes to talk about. Click here to learn more.

Posting Images?

The first way to upload an image into Discord is simple: drag an image or GIF from another source and drop it into the Discord window. This can be done on the browser or desktop app!

If you're having trouble dragging your picture or have to dig a little deeper to find it, we can try another method: uploading the file. To manually upload a file, select the little arrow box next to the text box. Then maneuver through your folders until you find the image you want.

Double-click or select & hit open, whichever way suits you best. Whether you're uploading via Drag & Drop or file upload, you'll have the opportunity to add a comment to the file before uploading it. Click here to learn more.

Forum Run Rules

  1. All posts should be professional and courteous.
  2. Be constructive. It's okay to disagree with other participants. Just keep the comments positive. We are all learning here.
  3. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective. However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community. If you do, you'll get a warning and perhaps be banned.
  4. Remember to turn off the "CAPS LOCK." Writing in ALL CAPS is the equivalent of SHOUTING and may be offensive.
  5. Only share artwork that belongs to you outside of the forum space unless you have permission from the artist.
  6. Please respect all Art Verve Academy policies and the forum moderators. Their job is to keep the forum safe and constructive so everybody can have their say.

You will be removed from the forum if you can not follow the run rules after an initial warning.
